A: After a really tough year, I was at the heaviest I had ever been. I didn't feel good in my body, both physically and mentally. My relationship with food was incredibly damaged - it became a crutch and something to make me feel better when I was down. I decided a year ago (has it already been a whole year?!), that I wanted to change things and take better care of myself. I only have this body and I wanted to learn how to nourish it properly and lose the weight in the healthiest way possible.
A: This experience has taught me that I am stronger than I thought and that it is okay to ask for help. It took me a long time to understand and accept that losing this weight and getting healthy is something I couldn't do completely on my own; maybe I needed someone to cheer me on, guide me, and give me advice. It does not make me weak or less than to log my food or send a text when I'm at a restaurant and I'm unsure about a menu. I learned that this actually makes me strong - the fact that despite work or personal stress, I was able to stay on track the best I could. I couldn't have made this progress WITHOUT help!
A. The ability to forgive my self and then move on! When you're on a weight loss journey, one that you've probably started and stopped many times in the past, it's REALLY hard when you slip up that first time, or the scale reads higher than expected that week. In the past, I would have been angry with myself and then given up. Working with OnPoint and Emily specifically, taught me how to keep going despite the setbacks. Bad days, weeks, or even months, will happen and that is out of my control. But what I can control is how I respond to those moments - by forgiving myself and continuing to move forward.
A: DO IT! I would 100% recommend working with OnPoint. I have not regretted my decision to work with them for a second this whole year and you won't either. Not only will you accomplish your weight loss goals, but you'll gain confidence and a new friend (shoutout to you, Emily!).
